Ever wanted to learn?

Boxted Methodist Silver Band  is a traditional brass band from Boxted, Colchester

The band can trace it's roots to a wind band formed c.1860 by members of Boxted Methodist Church.  By 1898 it had become a brass band, who's membership card stated that the band played to 'The Honour and Glory of God'.

We continue to be a church based organisation, with a mixed membership of both church goers and non-church goers who all enjoy meeting together to make music.

We meet weekly at 7.30pm - 9.30 on Wednesdays in the Schoolroom, Chapel Road,Boxted and rehearse a mixed program of brass band favourites, modern pieces and hymn tunes.

The band is very active playing at concerts, fetes, church services and other community and charity events throughout the year.

Whatever your age, gender or denomination and whether you are player, a potential player, a parent or simply interested in knowing more about us, we welcome you to join  us and share our enjoyment

Currently the band has vacancies for cornet players. Please go to the contact page if you are interested
